WAR OF WORDS

This publication examines the theory and rhetoric surrounding the term 'War on Terror' by presenting both sides of the conflict by juxtaposing imagery and quotes from opposing sides of the conflict.

Inspired by Paulo Freire’s Pedagogy of the Oppressed, where Freire states that “The oppressed, instead of striving for liberation, tend themselves to become oppressors...Liberation is thus a childbirth, and a painful one...The oppressed want at any cost to resemble the oppressors.”

This publication aims to showcase that there is not always a clear perpetrator, it is instead all about perspective and the dedication to understanding.
